To cater to the ever-growing number of players participating in second-chance win games, Scientific Games has grown its Drawing Services group with precision focus on process, procedures and security. Led by a former lottery security executive, this group of professionals can provide a complete turnkey solution to game drawing needs. The group works closely with lottery personnel to ensure that all drawing rules and procedures are agreed upon and followed for each game.

Only those employees deemed critical to conduct each phase of the drawing are present when draws are conducted and those assisting with validation are ushered in as that phase commences. The entire drawing process happens in coordination with and visible to an independent auditor and under the watchful eye of security. The drawing room and computer area are constantly video and audio recorded during business hours. It is also set to motion on weekends and after-hours.

Regardless of the entry type (paper, Internet or combo), the drawing services group has controls in place to guarantee the integrity of the draw. Security cages are utilized for paper drawing entries and secure servers house electronic databases for Internet draws. In June, 2010 Scientific Games began implementation of a new “Secure Drawing System”. This system will be used for all drawings as new promotions begin. The Secure Draw System (SDS) is an application to securely and randomly select winners for Second Chance Drawings. Players can enter a draw by a variety of means, including entering via the Internet and via mail. An Entry File containing information to uniquely identify the entrants is required. The SDS selects winning entries fairly and randomly from all of the entrants by using a Certified Random Number Generator. The selected winning entries are matched to the Entry File(s) to produce the Draw Results.
