Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS) announced that the Company has received re-certification for software development and quality best practices from the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL). Scientific Games was the first lottery vendor in the industry to be certified by NASPL in 2007 and has continued to obtain re-certification every two years. The NASPL-defined best practices are intended to provide both lotteries and vendors with simple, documented and approved methods for ensuring quality in the product development process. The official Requirements Definitions and Development Process Certification Renewal 2011 Assessment Summaries from NASPL indicated that Scientific Games has continued to show clear evidence of an unwavering commitment to quality since the Company received the original certification four years ago. “Scientific Games’ re-certification in NASPL quality standards demonstrates our continued commitment to providing the highest quality systems technology to our customers,” said Pat McHugh, Vice President, North America Operations for Scientific Games. “We are proud to be the first gaming system supplier certified by NASPL, and to have our re-certification validated through actual performance in customer technology deliveries. Our focus on supporting customers and providing quality technology-based products is key not only to the continued expansion of our lottery systems business, but to driving innovative products across all of our business units.” In order to achieve certification and remain certified, Scientific Games must follow the applicable NSI Quality Assurance Best Practices for all projects related to the creation of updating hardware and software systems for or on behalf of any NASPL Lottery. About NASPL The North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) was founded in 1971. Evolving from an informal exchange of information among three pioneering lottery directors, the organization has now grown into an active association representing 52 lottery organizations. Although the Association's membership and services have grown tremendously over the years, its basic mission remains the same as when it was founded more than 40 years ago -- to assemble and disseminate information and benefits of state and provincial lottery organizations through education and communications and where appropriate publicly advocate the positions of the Association on matters of general policy. About Scientific Games Scientific Games Corporation is a global leader in providing customized, end-toend gaming solutions to lottery and gaming organizations worldwide. Scientific Games' integrated array of products and services includes instant lottery games, lottery gaming systems, terminals and services, and internet applications, as well as server-based interactive gaming machines.
